You can, but you'd need to book it with that person's name. Otherwise, the reception might think there's fraud envolved, and you'll get a headache from both your lender as well as the hotel.

Yes, you can. All you have to do is make the reservation in your son’s name. At check-in he will need to present a valid ID, and it’s best if he has a credit card authorization letter from you, just to be on the safe side. The credit card authorization also guarantees payment of any incidental charges that your son may incur during his stay.
