Is Lyft cheaper than Uber Reddit

For me Uber pays better but I feel that I have to do longer rides that are not paid as much as 2 years ago, also the bonuses have been greatly reduced, before you can get a 20 trip bonus 40 and 60, now 60 is the starting point and they pay less, airport waiting times are insane like wait for the next time 45 min later will get a 10$ trip and supposedly you are in the first 4 cars.

Lyft on the other hand pays better for longer trips although the majority are short trips and it keeps me around the same area and I feel that I spend less gas and when there are bonuses they are easier to reach also when they have the 3 trips promotions for example 18$ extra it is more flexible not constrained to a small area like Uber does

One last thing I noticed on Uber now that if you are offline you see a lot of surge areas when you log on suddenly they disappear or they don't pay for the surge, I spent a lot of time stuck in traffic to be paid the minimum and the surge was like 15 and didn't get it.

I think this experience varies in different areas. a Also there is a huge difference in the last 2 years, I remember when I could make a couple of trips to the airport and be with 200$ now it takes almost the whole day to reach that amount

One last thing the last trips for a bonus are harder on purpose, either you don't get anything or are offered the extra long trips that are not worth it.

All of these are just in my opinion. experiences may vary... English is my second language sorry for any grammar mistakes.

I'm preparing to be downvoted like crazy. As a native NYer, I loathe Yellow cabs. They used to be fantastic. When they didn't know where they were going, they literally pulled to the side of the road, got out a map and navigated. Then 10 years ago they didn't want to go to Brooklyn or Queens, ever. Now if you get into one and tell them to drop you at Madison Square Park, they don't know where they're going. Lots refuse to use GPS too.

Every time I get into one, "Can you direct me?"

No bruh, that's what I'm paying you to do.

Green cabs on the other hand? WONDERFUL!

Is Lyft cheaper than Uber Reddit

Besides the bus. Like say your job is 20-25 minutes and the bus trip would take almost 2 hours to get there. Taking two buses and the trip all together. No driver’s license but working on one, I just gotta get back into it. I use the UberOne to save a little money for booking rides. Anybody got any suggestions? Thanks.

Yes, and coupled with the metro issues, it’s not nearly as fun/easy to go into DC anymore. For the airport, we’ve started using cabs instead (pre-booking Red Top Cab). It’s about $25 from Ballston to DCA.

When leaving the airport, we just get to the taxi queue outside baggage claim, tell the attendant where we’re going, and he directs us to a Virginia cab. It cost about $25 to get back to Ballston last time we flew, which was February.

I run both.

Lyft sometimes has longer drive times because they won’t tell a pax that drivers are not available. wait time for pax are 5 mins and the pax always seems to take their sweet ass time, but it hits them with a 10 dollar charge when they no show which is more frequently. I make about 20-30 bucks of a 4 hour shift just off no shows. I also prefer the google maps to Uber’s in app map.

Uber drive times are typically about 15 Mins max and the wait time is only 2 mins but the no show rate is less. Pax is more likely to be waiting and ready when you get here because it auto sends a text to them when you’re a minute away.

Edit: To answer your question, I feel like Uber at least appears to care more about the driver.

As a pax I would say if you need a driver right away and don’t feel like potentially waiting use Uber. If you could leave up to 30 mins you don’t mind waiting but save a few bucks, use Lyft.

It's all the same thing. 90 percent of Lyft drivers are also on Uber and vice versa. The only reason a driver isn't on both is because they are not approved by one or the other at the moment.

It's all the same thing. The driver is on both. The experience is no different. It's just an app providing a reason for a driver to move from one place or another.

If a Lyft driver is closer and the demand is lower then that will be cheaper.

As a driver for both, I just drive with who is paying me more that day. It's all the same exact thing. No difference.

Is Lyft always cheaper than Uber?

There are some key differences between Uber and Lyft. Uber can be less expensive than Lyft for the average journey—research suggests that Uber is the cheaper company, with the average trip costing $20 compared with the $27 you would spend for an average Lyft trip.

Is Uber better or Lyft better?

While Lyft is slowly expanding, Uber has a higher coverage area than Lyft. Lyft is a great choice in times of high demand or when there is a driver nearby and you need a low cost ride fast. If you need a ride that looks good, Uber has a better selection of vehicles.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Uber?

Lyft. The most obvious U.S. Uber competitor is Lyft, with a service that works quite similarly. Like Uber, the app lets you hail a car and see how far away it is on the map. The prices are comparable — sometimes it's less than Uber, sometimes it's more.

Which is better Lyft or Uber Reddit?

In my opinion Uber has a better destination mode. The major difference with respect to the driver apps is Lyft auto-queues new rides while Uber pops up a summary and gives you the option. When I'm trying to get a 3-ride streak or something I may want to auto queue but most of the time I absolutely do not like it.
