STEP BY STEP BED MAKING PROCEDURE from ARITRYA DAS Show
At some point in your life, you probably learned to make a bed. Maybe a parent taught you, or maybe you just figured it out yourself. It could be that you don’t even know how to make a bed. According to Hunch.com, a whopping 59% of people don’t make their bed in the morning. Is it because they don’t know how or because they just don’t want to? Assembling some bed sheets and covers over a mattress seems easy, but you’d be surprised how many people just don’t do it right. Follow these steps when making your bed so that you get it right every time: 1. Make sure everything is off Start with a blank canvas – a.k.a a naked mattress. You want nothing on the bed that will get in your way. That means remove all the blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals sitting on your mattress, so you have a clean slate to work with. 2. Put your fitted sheet on First, identify your fitted sheet from your top sheet. The difference between the two lies in the corners. The fitted sheet has the elastic ends that make holding onto the mattress corners easy. Put the fitted sheet on by covering the mattress, one corner at a time. You may need to tug hard on the final corner to wrap it around, but otherwise, it should be easy. Make sure the sheet is without any wrinkles on top, so that the next steps go smoothly. 3. Lay out the top sheet Lay the top sheet gently on top of the fitted sheet with the large hem at the top of the bed. Make sure the sheet is laid out evenly so there isn’t an awkward amount of the sheet hanging to one side of the bed. You could start by stuffing the sheet under the mattress – which is a slightly messy way to get it done. In order to make your bed perfectly, we highly recommend putting your sheets on with the hospital corners method. This will keep the sheet tight under your mattress while making it look very neat at the same time. 4. Put your bedspread, duvet, or comforter on last This part is easy. Throw your blanket over the top sheet and spread it out so that it’s even on both sides. Make sure there aren’t any wrinkles by smoothing it out with your hands. 5. Add the pillows Put the pillow sheets on your pillows and fluff them. The way you fluff a pillow is by placing your hands on separate ends of the pillow and squeezing the pillow together and pulling it apart. Do this a couple of times until the pillow looks fuller. Finally, place them next to each other at the top of the bed and you’re done! Making your bed is an easy and quick daily task. Take a few minutes every day to make your bed and start your morning off feeling organized and productive! If you’re waking up feeling groggy, your unmade bed from the night before could be the culprit — people who make their bed every morning are 19% more likely to get a good night’s sleep each night. Although thinking about how to make a bed probably isn’t on the top of your to-do list in the morning, making your bed can start you off feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. Keep reading for our step-by-step guide on how to make your bed, including ways to style your bedding and tips to keep your sheets looking fresh and neat. 1. 2. Add the Mattress TopperA mattress topper is a wallet-friendly way to turn your bed into a cozy sleep haven. Mattress toppers can transform your current mattress by adding a few extra inches of comfort to create a soft and buoyant feel, keeping you cool and cozy through the night. Just be sure to look for a mattress topper with a viscoelastic bottom so it doesn’t slip around during the night. How to Add a Mattress Topper to Your Bed
3. Use a Mattress ProtectorMattress protectors may not be as glamorous as throw pillows or blankets, but they are an essential part of keeping your bed clean for the long-term. A good mattress protector can help you sleep worry-free without affecting the feel or comfort of your sleeping surface. 4. Put on the Fitted SheetFitted sheets cover your mattress to form the base layer of your bedding. Most fitted sheets are sewn with elastic edges to help keep everything in place, so it’s important to get the correct sheet sizes for your bed size or the edge measurements may be off. 5. Put on a Flat SheetFlat sheets form a protective layer between yourself and your comforter or duvet, preventing body oils or dirt from transferring to your top layer. But the need for flat sheets is a debated subject — nearly 6 in 10 Americans think flat sheets are essential, while others opt out of flat sheets altogether. Whether you’re team flat sheet or not, you can’t deny that finding the right material can make all the difference. Whether you prefer breathable percale sheets or irresistibly soft sateen sheets, using the right sheets can help you sleep like a baby. How to Use a Flat Sheet

6. Place the Comforter or DuvetWhile some might use the term comforter or duvet interchangeably, these two types of top-layer bedding are actually quite different. While a comforter is a single piece of quilted bedding that sits on top of your sheets, a duvet is made of an insert and a cover — similar to a pillow and pillowcases. Duvets are typically easier to wash since you can toss them in the laundry, but putting on a duvet cover isn’t always an easy process. While comforters require no assembly, they may require special laundering — although they’re cleaned less often, since most people with comforters use a flat sheet. How to Put on a Duvet or Comforter
7. Add PillowsOnce your sheets are in order, you can get started beautifying your bedding. The size and type of pillows you use can make a difference when you’re determining how to make a bed. Heavier pillows like memory foam likely make a great base pillow, while lighter materials like down pillows are perfect for using as focal pillows because they are so light and lofty. Whether you prefer the functional look of two standard pillows or love the elevated feel of Euro shams, styling your pillows adds the perfect finishing touch when making your bed. 8. Finish With Throw Blankets on Your BedThrow blankets are perfect for snuggling up at night, but what do you do with them in the morning? You can make throw blankets part of your room decor by styling them on your bed to look trendy and effortless. Whether you use a soft, cozy fleece blanket or a stress-relieving weighted blanket, you can add that special finishing touch when deciding how to make a bed look nice.
