This Self-Learning Module (SLM) is prepared so that you, our dear learners, can continue your studies and learn while at home. Activities, questions, directions, exercises, and discussions are carefully stated for you to understand each lesson.

• Lesson 2 – Listening Strategies based on familiarity with the topic and level of difficulty of short texts listened to.

After going through this module, you are expected to:

1. answer questions of content, key ideas, details and opinions;

2. show effective, active listener behavior;

3. listen effectively;

4. note down the gist of the text;

5. predict the outcome of the listening text;

6. follow instruction.
